U.S. International Trade Commission Will Continue To Investigate Chinese Aluminum Products
On June 28, the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) announced that it had determined there is a reasonable indication that U.S. industry is being materially injured by imports of disposable aluminum containers, pans, trays, and lids from China that are allegedly sold in the United States at less than fair value and are subsidized by the government of China.
This decision means the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) will continue its investigations regarding imports of these products from China.
The DOC’s preliminary countervailing duty determination will be due by August 9, 2024, and its preliminary antidumping duty determination will be due by October 23, 2024.
The status of these proceedings and additional information for these investigations can be found within the USITC’s Investigations Database System. The DOC’s preliminary report and determinations will be available by July 26, 2024 on the USITC website.
