U.S. Sets Preliminary Duties On Welded Pipe From Canada, Three Other Countries

The U.S. Commerce Department announced last week that it will place anti-dumping and countervailing duties on imported large diameter welded pipes from Canada, South Korea, Turkey and Greece.

Preliminary rates are as follows:

  • Canada: Commerce assigned a dumping rate of 12.32 percent for Evraz Inc. NA and a dumping rate of 12.32 percent to all other producers and exporters.
  • Greece: Commerce assigned a dumping rate of 9.96 percent for Corinth Pipeworks Pipe Industry S.A. and a dumping rate of 9.96 percent to all other producers and exporters.
  • South Korea: Commerce assigned a dumping rate of 14.97 percent for Hyundai RB Co., Ltd.; a dumping rate of 7.03 percent for SeAH Steel Corporation; a dumping rate of 20.39 percent for Samkang M&T Co., Ltd.; and a dumping rate of 9.30 percent to all other producers and exporters.
  • Turkey: Commerce assigned a dumping rate of 4.55 percent for mandatory respondent Borusan Mannesmann Boru Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S.; a dumping rate of 5.05 percent for HDM Celik Boru Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S.; and a dumping rate of 4.68 percent to all other producers and exporters.

The U.S. International Trade Commission will make final determinations on the duties on or about April 5. Click here to read the full decision.
